There are now three different options under the proposed hunter orange rule currently being considered by the Oregon Fish Wildlife Commission. They range from maintaining the status quo of no hunter orange requirement, to requiring a hunter orange upper garment or hat for hunters 17 years of age or younger, or for sportsmen of all ages, while hunting big game and upland birds (except turkey) with a centerfire firearm or shotgun.

Kansas: Amendment would reaffirm right to bear arms

The initiative was placed on the ballot by the 2009 Kansas Legislature in response to a U.S. Supreme Court decision that said the U.S. Constitution’s Second Amendment grants individuals the right to bear firearms.
Proponents of the legislation said they wanted to make sure the Kansas Constitution would be interpreted the same way.

Robbery suspects shot dead by N.C. Pizza Hut worker

Police say a North Carolina pizza restaurant worker being herded toward a cooler pulled a gun and shot and killed two robbers. Multiple media outlets reported today that police were searching for a third man who got away from an east Charlotte Pizza Hut restaurant. Authorities say the robbers burst through the restaurant's front door late Monday as two workers were cleaning up in the back. Investigators say the suspects ordered the two employees into a walk-in cooler, then started beating one of the men. The other employee pulled a handgun and opened fire.

The National Rifle Association has once again confirmed it will not be issuing an endorsement in the Nevada U.S. Senate race. Texas bank welcomes legally-armed customers

CHAPPELL HILL, Texas—A Texas bank has created a new rule allowing concealed handgun owners in the building, in hopes that they’ll be a deterrent to armed robbers. Chappell Hill Bank, located about an hour northwest of Houston, is a bank with history. "Near as we know, we’re the oldest continuously operated bank in the United States," said bank president Ed Smith. "The rest of them closed for Roosevelt’s bank holiday in 1933."
