(GunReports.com) – Hornady Manufacturing has been named the 2010 Ammunition Manufacturer of the Year by the National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers (NASGW), at an awards ceremony during the Annual Meeting and Expo in Louisville, Kentucky, November 3, 2010. More than 475 NASGW members attended the event. “We are extremely honored to be chosen from amongst our peers by the NASGW, and would like to thank our customers for their recognition of our continual efforts to service the shooting sports industry,” said Steve Hornady, President of Hornady Manufacturing.

Olin Will Move Centerfire Ammo Production to Mississippi

(GunReports.com) — Olin Corporation has announced that its Winchester Centerfire Operations and approximately 1,000 jobs will be relocated to Oxford, Mississippi. The company’s decision follows two failed ratification votes by members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, in which employees twice rejected a union proposal that would have allowed Centerfire Operations to remain in East Alton.

New Jersey: Invasive Personal Privacy Legislation Passes Committee!

On Monday, November 15, the New Jersey State Government, Wagering and Tourism Committee approved S2379 by a 3 to 1 vote. Introduced by State Senator’s Barbara Buono (D-18) and Loretta Weinberg (D-37), this legislation would require organizations such as the NRA and the Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs (ANJRPC), to send information regarding their contributions to the government.

Pennsylvania “Castle Doctrine” Legislation Still Needs Your Help!

On Monday, November 15, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives voted 161 to 35 to concur on House Bill 1926. HB 1926 will now move to Governor Ed Rendell’s (D) desk for his consideration. Unfortunately, the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association is opposed this legislation and is urging Governor Rendell to veto this important self-defense bill. This Association does not speak for all District Attorneys in Pennsylvania. Please take a moment to call your County District Attorney and urge him or her to speak out in support of HB 1926. Contact information can be found below. so, please contact Governor Rendell today and respectfully urge him to protect law-abiding Pennsylvanian’s by signing HB 1926 into law.

Alaska Machine Gun Shoot

This years annual machine gun shoot was May 29-30 at Riverside Park Campground and Range in Anderson AK. The Alaska machine Gun Association’s website gives information on their machine gun shoots.

Arizona: Misinformation feared on Proposition 109

Supporters of a ballot measure that would give people a constitutional right to “hunt, fish and harvest wildlife” have launched a committee to fight what they say is misinformation on Proposition 109.
Two Arizona Game and Fish commissioners, Valley hunters and a representative from the National Rifle Association were among the Prop. 109 supporters gathered at the state Capitol on Monday to announce the launch. Commissioner Jack Husted said he wants voters to understand what’s at stake if the measure fails.
