Nassau County, on Long Island, New York, enacted an ordinance which bans handguns in non-traditional colors, such as pink. The ordinance declares such firearms to be “deceptively colored.” On December 28, the Appellate Division, Second Department (the intermediate court of appeals) ruled 4–0 that the Nassau ban is preempted by New York State’s handgun licensing law. While the state law, Penal Law § 400.00, is not explicitly preemptive, the Appellate Division found implicit field preemption because: 1. AMARILLO, TEXAS — As it stands right now you must be 21 in order to get a concealed carry hand gun license, but two teenagers in Lubbock want to change that. They think if you are 18 years old you should have all the same rights as people who are 21. Wisconsin now requires handguns to be clearly displayed in a holster. Carrying a concealed weapon is a misdemeanor and carries a fine of $500, plus court costs.
Republican gubernatorial candidate Scott Walker has said he would sign a bill allowing gun owners to carry concealed firearms.

Gainesville gunman kills self after deadly shooting spree

'Seven people were shot — two of whom have died — in an apparent random shooting spree that began about 4 p.m. Monday in southeast Gainesville. The suspect, identified by relatives as Clifford L. Miller Jr., 24, was found in a truck at 2306 S.E. 46th Terrace dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office and relatives.
