South Carolina: House says OK to guns under car seats

House members voted 104 to 0 to allow South Carolinians with concealed weapons permits to stow their guns under their vehicle seats.
That’s in addition to the other places already allowed by law: a vehicle trunk and glove compartment.

Canada: The long-gun registry doesn’t work

It is with great interest that I have watched the reactions of the Canadian public last week to the recent media coverage of the Canadian long-gun registry and our minority Conservative government’s bill to repeal it. Hopefully, the facts will prevail and the myths and political rhetoric surrounding it will be seen for what they really are.

England: MPs to get vote on lifting Labour ban on foxhunting

After negotiations with the Liberal Democrats, the Conservatives have secured a pledge to introduce a parliamentary vote on abandoning the ban.
David Cameron has personally called for the ban to be lifted but the Liberal Democrats have previously opposed the move.

Circumventing the Second Amendment

In 2008, the Supreme Court struck down a Washington, D.C. ordinance banning possession of handguns. It was a huge victory for advocates of gun rights but not, so far, for Washingtonians who would like to acquire a pistol legally. Ever since the verdict, the city government has worked hard to keep things as close as possible to the way they were before.
